Iowa Department of Education - IDEA Part B - Parent Survey -2018-2019
Purpose
Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) requires states to report the percent of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with IEPs.
The Iowa Department of Education is gathering these data as a census for both students with and without an IEP using a brief survey.
2018 – 2019 Requirement
The Department has requested the assistance of the AEAs to disseminate the survey link and instructions to building principals and nonpublic administrators. The AEAs will provide you with the information for dissemination and monitor the response rate to ensure that this year’s survey is conducted as a census and is answered by as many parents as possible.

Timeline
Survey will be open April 29th through June 30th. Building principals and nonpublic administrators should disseminate the required information to parents as soon as possible but no later than May 15th.
